The Alchemist is the book that helped to bring Brazilian author Paulo Coelho to the mainstream.
When we opened CLASS Bookstore, one of the books that I knew that we needed to have on our [digital] shelves is this one. Set in a not-so-distant past, Santiago is the son of a shepherd, who has a dream that sets him on a journey to a land, far away from his humble home. Probably its most famous quote is the following phrase: "[W]hen you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it."
Beautiful sentiment. Beautiful story. Look for the character, Melchizedek. He is my favorite.
